Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I've been doing this for years so I already know the answer but since its such a popular topic I figure I'd throw my team out there and hear your opinions. Standard, no PPR 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF
Not a bad team, but i'm not sure why you'd waste a roster spot on backup DEF. You're backup QBs were both late picks but still Matt Ryan hasn't missed many games if any, i'd like to see some more depth at RB with your team. Your team looks solid for a shot at a 'chip with Spiller and Julio, but do yourself a favor and get some depth in case of injuries at the WR and RB position. Four WRs for 3 slots and you'll likely need to get a little lucky on the waiver wire.
12 team PPR IDP, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 W/T, 1 W/R, K, and 7 IDP players:
QB: CARSON PALMER, RYAN TANNEHILL
RB: JAMAAL CHARLES, REGGIE BUSH, SHANE VEREEN, CHRIS IVORY
WR: DAMARYIUS THOMAS, LARRY FITZGERALD, REGGIE WAYNE, ERIC DECKER , CECIL SHORTS,, LANCE MOORE, VINCENT BROWN, CHRIS GIVENS, KENBRELL THOMPKINS
TE: JORDAN CAMERON
K: MASON CROSBY
I won't bore you with the IDPs, but I believe this is how you prepare for a trade, Alan.
I know you are not listening to these jmokes anyways but your team is very good. A lot of Falcons to depend on but I like it. I had Ryan-Roddy- Gonz last year and couldnt have asked for much better. Julio will be killer this year with yards and td's! Im a Falcon fan so definitely not hating on them its just a lot of players from one team even though they are one of the best offenses in the league. Also Gresham might be a monster this year. Cincy on the rise!
Team is okay, but definitly tetering on finishing last if you get an injury. Can't imagine there is much left on the waiver when it comes to RB or WR depth if the rest of the league drafted the way they should. Who the heck drafts 3 QBs in a 1 QB league. Drafting to trade someone is dumb and dangerous. The league I play in the guys are smart enough to see that and send out low ball offers and then wait to pick them up when that GM is forced to drop them. Your strategy is dangerous and in a good league could get you killed.
Let me clear this up for all you #$%$. Weeden is my dump QB. Gresham is a dump TE. A. Smith plays Oak. Week 6 to cover Matt Ryan's bye. All you jackasses telling me who to drop can get bent, there is a reason they are on my roster. I didn't ask for anyone's advice, I just wanted to flaunt my drafting greatness. Strategy.... learn some.
drop a QB, or two, drop GB D, Id drop Gresham also, and stock up on RB/WR...in a ten team league you should be able to find some capable backups...if Fjax is available Id grab him first...your WRs are pretty good, Id try to grab one of the hyped rookies...Patterson or Givens or Austin etc...I like Ryan, love Spiller, wouldn't put much faith in Johnson yet, and love Gonzo and Gostkowski...I also like T Smith and Austin...not a bad team, but youre carrying too much dead weight in extra QBs and extra D and TE who wont play much for you if at all, and in those spots you could get some good depth plus maybe hit a homerun with a up and coming player
