Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Hey there, in a 12-team H2H League 0.5PPR and was wondering what sleepers and busts I should know about. I have a list of a few I was thinking of but wanted to see what the rest of you think.
Tom Brady(for where he's being drafted), James Jones, Gronk (can provide alot of value when healthy), Ryan Tannehill, Jermichael Finley, Justin Forsett, Zac Stacy, Tavon Austin, Alshon Jeffery, Travis Kelce
Montee Ball, Mike Wallace, Rashard Mendenhall, Larry Fitzgerald, Percy Harvin, Amendola, David Wilson, Ryan Mathews, Joseph Randle, Ronnie Hillman
What do you think? Any to add/subtract?
Also...where would you draft Gronk? I know he may miss the first 4-5 weeks but he is among the elite TE when healthy and I could stash him on my bench.
Since by definition a "sleeper" is a player who comes out of nowhere, it's impossible to list anyone. All we know about the guy is that he will be undrafted out of college, impress coaches at training camp enough to make the roster cuts and then (probably through injury circumstances) get a chance to get into a game.
QB: Phillip Rivers, Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles
WR: Givens, Tate, Hartline
RB: Stacy, Franklin, Vareen
TE: Fred Davis, Brandon Myers
QB: Robert Griffin, Russ Wilson, Michael Vick
WR: Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, Tavon Austin
RB: Alred Morris, Trent Richardson, Chris Johnson
TE: Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Owen Daniels
sleepers=Ball, Housler, Pitta,Micheal Floyd, Tannihill, T.Y. Hilton, Martellius Bennitt, and Giovani Gernard are sleepers
Busts= Gordon too stupid to get of his own way, Leveon Bell, Stevie Johnson rookie QB and not a very good one, and Cam Newton just have a feeling he's too much of a diva to do what QB"S need to to win.
I will only mention what I disagree on, therefore you have them as sleepers and I have them as busts
James Jones - 14 TDs last year, TDs for a WR are the most difficult stat to replicate. Ask his teammate Jordy Nelson or Megatron. When you take away 14 TDs and replace it with let's say 6 TDs for example. Then he was a 10th round WR in a 12 team league, AT BEST
Ryan Tannehill - Waste of a draft pick unless you start 2 QBs and need a backup or have 14 bench slots
Justin Forsett - The Guy #$%$ flashes when he touches the football, but no team will let him handle the rock because of his small size (I guess). He's not worth a roster spot unless a coach actually feels like letting him shine, which no coach has done yet. Preseason will better answer this though
As for Stacy, Austin, Jeffery, and Kelce, those will be answered in preseason and training camp likely.
I haven't done any mock drafts yet, but depending on how late Gronk is going he might be a steal. The guy can't stay healthy, but there's no denying Brady sees a huge bullseye when this guy is on the field. No matter how injured he is, if he's out there Brady will throw to him. The best thing I can suggest would be grabbing another solid TE so you're not putting all your eggs in the Gronk basket. If Gronk is still available in rounds 7-9 I'd be willing to jump on him. Again, though, I don't where he's being picked up right now. You might need to adjust to an earlier round, or may be able to even hold off a little later.
I'm seeing a lot of things about Jordan Cameron for Cleveland. I hate buying into hype, but there is nothing but positive things being said about this guy right now. He might be a great TE to pick up in addition to Gronk, and you wouldn't have to burn an early pick on him.
