Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I want Orton (currently have Palmer and Smith in a 12 team non PPR league)
Naanee, Gresham, and McCluster for his K.Orton
Here's my argument:
Orton is your backup so i had a lot more to lose in the previous trade but you still need receivers and running backs (Orton is hot right now but i dunno how long it will last, you even said it yourself he sucks)
Naanee - has a great matchup this week and in the next 4 weeks and is great against teams that have good corners cuz they will cover gates or floyd, not him
McCluster - does everything, WR, RB and returns kicks (already has one 94yd return and another receiving touchdown plus cassel is gettin hot and their schedules lightens up after indy next week
Gresham - aside from cedric benson and their kicker has been cinci's only other offensive weapon, leading receiver and their #1 red zone option. PLUS he is expected to have a standout week this week
(you can do some research if you dont wanna take my word for it)
What do you think?
Well you've certainly had good practice for trying to persuade him that the trade is good!
Maybe you could fill his inbox with the mini-essays you posted above, explaining why these guys who you aren't starting are actually going to be amazing over the next 4 weeks.
Scientifically, if you squeeze a bunch of crap together hard enough, it becomes a diamond. The same is not true in fantasy football, however. A bunch of turds is a bunch of turds, no matter what you do to them.
i mean...whats his team?? is he legitimately going to start any of those guys???
bc if I had Orton...i would still need to drop 2 other players...and I couldnt really use any of those guys except nannee...and thats just cuz hes best in trade....i wouldnt do it
if you can get him good for you, but also consider that he needs to drop a lot from his bench if you give him three. ofc Orton is worth all those 3 you give up because he is coming to be a consistent QB regardless of matchup. he is not gonna give you crazy scoring games, but consistency is more important
Who are his starters at RB, WR, and TE? Personally here's how I see it:
Naanne-Distant 3rd option behind Gates and Floyd in the passing game and looks like he may be getting passed up by Crayton.
McCluster-Not a bad option for flex. Do you get points for return yards in this league? That would make a big difference in value. If not, the off chance of a ret td doesn't add a ton of value.
Gresham-being Cinci's #1 WR this year isn't really something to be proud of as he only has 99 yards and a TD so far.
Though Orton may not stay at this current pace, he's worth more than that offer, especially when you clearly need help at QB.
