    • Who should I take with the number 6 pick overall?

      • 1 Reply to Justin J
      • At this position you should have your choice between De. Williams, Tomlinson, Westbrook, Slaton, Brees or Fitzgerald among others. For my money, I think if he's there, I'm going with DeAngelo Williams.i think the devaluation of Williams because of Stewart's presence is as overblown as the way people take RB's 90% of the time in first round is. Nothing in the stats supports that except for the fact that that's what people want. If you use ratings, and i often do, I look for the player who gives me the greatest separation from the average point getter at his position. For instance, I only look at the top 12 at QB for instance because there are only 12 QBs starting in my league. Brees gives more point separation ABOVE THE AVERAGE QB than any other player regardless of position. AP is second. Going by stats, you should take Brees because he will give you the best bang for your buck where as the average separation between Williams and other RBs is much smaller than Brees gets. But at 6, you probably can take Williams and STILL get Brees in round 2 and avoid getting shut out durin gthe dubious run on RBs, and/or at least Manning who is close to Brees. This way you get both and have a great team going through two rounds.

      • Nut just yes, but HELL YES! I like this deal a LOT.

Forte is a top 5 pick overall. He is only going to get better with Cutler distracting defenses.

White is going into a contract year, but it's pretty damn crowded in Tennesee. Harvin to me is risky. His drug issue not withstanding, he's smallish at 5'11 and more of a Dion Branch than a Randy Moss.

I will say that I almost ALWAYS trade hype for proven talent. You can get burned once in a great while, but only about 10% of the time will that go against you completely with nothing in return. Let's remember, Harvin, even if he's does half way ok, and same for White, you still get Forte so that would be a win/win in the very least. More than likely, you won't look back after this deal.

        Go for it!

    • Who are your top 5 sleepers for the deep roster leagues??

      • in a previous post i wrote:

At RB in 2009 (not in any particular order)

        Ray Rice, Balt
        Derrick Ward, TB
        Cedric Bensen, CIN.
...and maybe, LenDale White who's going into a contract year.

        At WR:
Anthony Gonalez, IND (replaces Marvin Harrison
Lavernaues Coles, CIN (replaced TJ Housh)

Rookies I like having impacts this year are Chris Wells (AZ), Morena (DEN) and Shonn Greene (NYJ) as 3 guys who could have impact this year.

Michael Crabtree would not ordinarily be on my list but I have to say, contrary to a lot of popular wisdom out there, Crabtree has not be going too early in drafts, Usually he is around in the 5-6th round of mock drafts I have attended. I like Crabtree if he's on your board for a 3rd receiver.
