Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Hey everyone. I'm drafting #1 in my upcoming 12 team draft. As much as I like a guaranteed stud like LT, I HATE having to wait SO LONG to get my 2nd and 3rd picks and fear the worthwhile RB's and WR's will already be off the board. I'd much rather have a 4th or 5th overall pick, get a guy like Addai, swing back with another solid RB or stud WR then a later round QB.
Any ideas on strategy in the #1 position?
Do people trade out of this spot in their draft?
If so, what's the typical agreement? Thanks.
I hear what your sayin and understand completely, but you can't pass on a sure fire stud like LT, he's just way too consistent a fantasy player (Gore and Alexander went top 6-7 last year and did absolutely nothing, so LT is money in the bank). Yea, most of the top RBs and top WRs might be gone by your next pick, but if you draft correctly, you'll be able to flip LT (if u really need to) with someone fairly decent on ur team for 2 great backs...don't worry too much about that position, having back to back picks after round 1 is always fun to have:)

yip i agree once u pick LT sit back watch and wait there should be a solid #2 back left and a solid WR maybe like T.J or Fritz. u will have 2 picks back to back lol being #1 pick only means your getting LT
I'm in the same boat with Evan... got the #1 overall but thinking about using it as a bargaining chip. Especially since the custom scoring in our league heavily favors WR over RBs... is it insane to trade the #1 pick for say (2) mid-round picks (maybe even get a 1st/2nd round pick for 2009)? You just hate to pass up the opportunity to shake it up a bit...
