When the NFL's highest-scoring offense (New Orleans, 27.9 PPG) faces the league's most scored-upon defense (Detroit, 31.7), you don't really need an expert to break things down. Still, we feel obligated to highlight the matchup. You can't bench many Saints in Week 16, except for employee No. 25.
It's worth noting that all three Lions of distinction -- Megatron, Kevin Smith, Jason Hanson -- are solid fantasy plays in championship week, and Dan Orlovsky is on the radar, too. The Saints allow the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks and receivers, and they've given up four rushing TDs over the last two weeks.
So neither defense is any good, and both offenses have some weapons. Now that New Orleans has been eliminated from playoff contention, the game is essentially being played for fantasy purposes. It's not the only Week 16 contest fitting that description, but it's arguably the best.
Here's the usual Tuesday review of the league's most user-friendly Ds:
The teams above are sorted by points-allowed; the teams below are arranged by yardage...
Many of us have been carried by Steve Slaton and/or Pierre Thomas recently, and those backs get the best possible matchups (OAK, DET) in the season's most important week ... Ronnie Brown faces a soft KC defense, so he'll be ranked as a RB2, despite the recent workload (his last 20-touch game was in Week 9) ... If Brett Favre is ever going to play another game in which his TDs outnumber his interceptions, this is it. Seattle's D only has six picks in 14 games ... Chad Pennington has only reached 200 passing yards once in his last five games, but he's thrown six touchdowns and just one interception over that stretch ... The early weather forecast looks OK for the Bears-Packers game on Monday night. Don't fret, Aaron Rodgers owners ... You can have Cedric Benson and DeShaun Foster. I've been there, and I'm not goin' back.

Usually fantasy suicide, but hell, I'll take the downside just for the fun-factor. All eggs in one basket = awesome!
