Andy Reid announced today that Donovan McNabb will start at quarterback for the Eagles on Thursday night against Arizona. Because apparently there aren't any Detmers left.

"Donovan's the quarterback for this football team," Reid said. "Donovan needs to play better and I have to coach better. And the players around Donovan have to play better."

So if they can just correct those three things -- the quarterback play, the coaching, and the inadequacy of every player on the roster -- then they should be fine. It obviously doesn't help that Brian Westbrook is playing with injuries, and that Correll Buckhalter needs an MRI on his knee today. Asante Samuel (neck) was injured at Baltimore, too.

Let's just say that we eagerly await the stirring show of support that Philadelphia fans will offer their team on Thanksgiving.

Quit goofing around with football and tell the Yahoos to reinstate the Team Log in the hoops leagues.

Wow, I would feel bad for the city if it weren't for the Phillies, and my team, the Cleveland freaking Browns

As a McNabb owner, I'm apathetic at this point. McNabb news is of little consequence, as I wouldn't start him if you paid me the rest of the way anyway.

All reports point toward the fact that the main problem with McNabb Sunday was he missed his all-important pre-game ritual -- a hearty bowl of Chunky friggin' soup!

He does so well with the quick short cross passes, he always hits them, he always gets yards. Then all of a sudden the ball flies through the air in some form of Tom Brady worship. McNabb needs to just concentrate on the short cross passes for bits of yards and just get the job done. don't try to win the game in 1 play by throwing the ball off the moon, around the goal post, off the safety's hands, nothing but net.

people complain about how bad mcnabb is with the eagles but the second mcnabb goes to a team like minnesota or chicago they are going to be instant superbowl contenders. the problem isn't mcnabb even though he's playing bad. the problem is the play calling absolutey sucks. dont count the eagles out cuz that has happened before like when they lost T.O. and made it to the superbowl and when mcnabb got hurt and garcia took them to the playoffs. its not over yet

It was Baltimore, no run game (still missing that key olineman) and andy reid is making boneheaded play calling. At the start of the season people were saying how McNabb was back (and he did look pretty good) and now hes being benched? Chi town wont take him but more likely the Lions. Think about what he can do with Calvin Johnson and Michael Crabtree (we all know they are gonna take him).

Cassel is good for Fantasy Playoffs, but he probably won't help you get there this week vs. Pittsburgh.

I'm sorry, but there are actually McNabb owners still????? I thought that guy was pretty much worthless for fantasy purposes last year, & this year has simply been a nightmare for him.
& why is it that we're only just NOW starting to talk about Andy Reid's job security? Why hasn't he been fired already? Poor clock management, terrible coaching decisions, all the distractions caused by his idiot sons, & now his starting QB doesn't even know a tie can happen in the NFL????
OTOH, Eagles fans, look on the bright side: at least you're not a Detroit, St Louis, Oakland, or SF fan.

my local high school team could get a few INT's off McNabb or any other QB in the league if they knew what play was coming. Sadly, with Andy Reid's "play calling"(for lack of a better term), that seems to be the case 99% of the time. In fact, wasn't one of Cincy's defenders quoted as saying that after the tie game? I'm an Eagles fan, but Reid has got to go. No running game and only 1 viable WR(the prima-donna T.O.) in McNabb's tenure, makes me realize just how talented McNabb has been in his career to put up the kind of numbers he has while being surrounded by such a pathetic overall supporting cast.

i agree with neil t mcnabb needs to grow some he has been the face of the franchise for 10 years and has played great with no weapons beside t.o. for one year he should step up and say he dosen't want to b apart of a franchise that blames him for everything and won't get him nothing yea they tried randy but he wanted to stay in new england because of tom so that excuse is out the door and if anybody think westbrook is the answer is totatly worng how many times has he stayed healthy for all 16 westbrook is dangerous when he is healthy but that is if mcnabb needs to leave the so called city of brotherly love
