If you love depressing interviews with interim GMs, then you'll want to check out the Mitch In the Morning podcasts over at Sports Radio 950 KJR. There's an excellent interview with Lee Pelekoudas, in which all the tough questions are asked...and sort of answered, vaguely. Kind of.
On the topic of a potential Erik Bedard deal, Pelekoudas said "Everything is on the table," clearly implying that no player is untouchable. Richie Sexson and Jose Vidro did not exactly get votes of confidence, either.
But here's the much bigger short-term fantasy news: Brandon Morrow apparently did not travel with the team to Atlanta. He's dealing with back spasms.
"He could be down for this series," said Pelekoudas, "and hopefully he'll be back in New York."
We haven't seen any other confirmation of the Morrow story just yet, but that probably wasn't a Lee Pelekoudas impersonator on the phone. Miguel Batista, who was recently removed from the Seattle rotation, would likely get any save chances in Morrow's absence.
Maybe the Mariners' trainer will be the next guy fired.
(Hat tip to Benji Benjacobson, over in the Rotoworld forums).
