Nate Burleson suffered a torn knee ligament in the third quarter of Sunday's loss in Buffalo, and will undergo season-ending surgery ... Deion Branch is not expected to play this week, coach Mike Holmgren said, and Bobby Engram remains out, as well. Holmgren said it's possible backup quarterback Seneca Wallace will play more time at receiver, and the team might look to the free-agent market to find a veteran to add to the roster.
Holmgren did not add, "And that nameless veteran would immediately become our best receiver."
Brutal news. In a normal week, this would be a major headline.
Clearly I should have accepted one of those trade offers in the blog league, Hansen.
Burleson tore his ACL in Sunday's game and is done for the season. Mike Holmgren said they are likely to go outside to sign somebody rather than pull inexperienced Michael Bumpus off the practice squad ... Holmgren said the best-case scenario is that they sign somebody with some knowledge of the system. Bryan Gilmore comes immediately to mind because he was in camp and has experience.

Mo Morris has sprained knee and is out for this week but is not out for a long period.
That should result in a temporary value boost for Julius Jones, but don't get too excited.
