The big practice day is Friday, of course, but the Wednesday and Thursday sessions also have meaning to them. Let's see who's in, who's out, and who's on the fence as we prepare for Week 9.
• Steven Jackson (quad) had a limited
day Wednesday and this looks like another touch-and-go week for him. "You have
to talk to Steven on that one," Jim Haslett said. "It's going to be a
day-to-day thing to see how he feels when he is running."
• Jason Witten (broken ribs) wasn't able to practice Wednesday and looks very questionable for Week 9. He wants to play, to no one's surprise - recall how he gutted it out without complaint through a broken jaw early in his career.
• Joseph Addai (hamstring) is off the injury report this week, while Dominic Rhodes (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday. Looks like Addai should hit the ground running this week, with Chad Simpson the change-of-pace option if Rhodes can't go. Sticking with the Colts, Reggie Wayne (knee) rested Wednesday but it's too early to get concerned about it. Tony Dungy also expects run-stuffing safety Bob Sanders to be back Sunday.
• Brooks Bollinger got some reps with the Cowboys first-team offense Wednesday, so it's pretty obvious Brad Johnson is on a short leash up against the Giants this week.
• Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder) rested Wednesday but time is on his side with the Steelers playing Monday against Washington.
• Carson Palmer (elbow) is out for another week and who knows if we'll see him again this year.
• Jay Cutler (thumb) wasn't
mentioned on the injury report, so it looks like all systems go for No. 6. "It feels pretty good," Cutler said Wednesday. "Got lucky."
• Matt Hasselbeck (back) is out for another week, so we get to see Seneca Wallace run for his life against the Philadelphia pass rush. Good times.
• Brian Westbrook (ribs/ankle) had a full day Wednesday, if you wanted to know. DeSean Jackson (shoulder) and Reggie Brown (groin) also did full work.
• Adam Schefter is reporting that the Chiefs won't dress Larry Johnson this week, and it's not clear when, or even if, LJ will play again this year. Throw in a sore ankle for Jamaal Charles and by default Kolby Smith becomes option No. 1 against Tampa Bay. Good luck with that.
• Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) will take it easy this week as he gets ready for Tennessee; he says he feels "a little better" after the bye but probably isn't 100 percent yet. He's fully expected to start, but don't be thrown if he doesn't take that many reps in practice.
• Clinton Portis (ankle) rested Wednesday, a logical call as the Redskins get ready for Monday's showdown with Pittsburgh. No worries here. He's not 100 percent, but what featured back is at this point? The club also held out Santana Moss (hamstring) Wednesday.
• Willie Parker (knee) had a full day Wednesday but I'm not assuming anything let, given the tricky path his month has taken. And there's no getting around it, Mewelde Moore has looked fantastic of late.
• Michael Pittman (ribs) had a full day of practice Wednesday, so it looks like we'll have to do the Shanahan Shuffle and guess on the backfield, yet again, this week. For everything you need to know about Ryan Torain, I direct you to my colleague, Andrew Behrens.
• Ahman Green (thigh) is nicked up, you know the drill with him. He's looked good of late, but he didn't practice Wednesday. Teammate Kevin Walter (knee) also sat on Wednesday.
• Randy Moss (foot) had a partial
practice Wednesday, according to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe. It's hard to imagine Moss sitting out
at Indianapolis.
• Willis McGahee (ankle/knee) didn't practice Wednesday, but he'll want to get well in time for the Browns, waiting in Week 9.
• Darren McFadden (toe) sat out Wednesday's session, which means we're probably looking at another start for Justin Fargas.
• Reggie Williams (hamstring) missed some of the work Wednesday, something we'll keep an eye on. He finally scored last week and looks like an intriguing second-half sleeper with the Matt Jones suspension looming (Jones's appeal hasn't been heard yet), but the health has to check out.
• Jerious Norwood (post-concussion) missed some work Wednesday but he should be able to back up Michael Turner on Sunday.
• Sammy Morris (knee) isn't practicing yet and probably won't go against the Colts. LaMont Jordan (calf) had a partial day Wednesday, if you wanted to know.
• A handful of Jets were limited Wednesday, including Jerricho Cotchery (shoulder), Laveranues Coles (hamstring), and Chris Baker (hip). The Jets also aren't expecting to have linebacker David Harris (groin) in Week 9, good news for the Buffalo ground game.
• I'm all for the Brandon Lloyd experience if he can get back on the field, but the knee is still an issue. He had a partial day on Wednesday.
• Tony Scheffler (groin) had a
limited day Wednesday and is no sure thing to go against Miami.
• Warrick Dunn (back) didn't practice Wednesday and is no sure thing for the Kansas City grab bag that's on tap. The Bucs admit Dunn probably shouldn't have played last week.
• Leonard Weaver (foot) missed Wednesday's practice but should be able to go on Sunday.

trade 1 - i traded jamal lewis for donovan mcnabb
trade 2 - i traded brandon marshall & willie parker for reggie bush & matt schaub
schaub was drafted in round 10, so i only give up an eighth rounder for him next year, but bush was drafted in round 3 so i lose a first round pick (i'll also have to drop marshawn lynch and mcnabb).

Better yet, 2 TD's in one game?
I'm seriously considering benching this guy for Bernard Berrian.
My other two WR's are Lee Evans and Donnie Avery.
Unfortunately Steve Smith (Car) is on a bye.

Starting A. Johnson at WR, but need help deciding final 2 between R. Moss/B. Marshall/L. Evans.
Also, C. Cooley vs. PIT or O. Daniels @ MIN at TE?

Giving up Peyton Manning and Justin Fargas for Jake Delhomme and Laveranues Coles.
I'm in a 14-team PPR league. Thoughts?
