If you're from the school that believes you can't possibly have too many Padres on a fantasy roster, then you'll want to pick up Kyle Blanks(notes) immediately. San Diego's top prospect is on his way to PETCO.
The 22-year-old Blanks is an absolute mountain (6-6, 285). Check the tape:
Blanks was batting .283 with 12 home runs and a .393 on-base percentage at Triple-A Portland. He hit .325/.404/.514 with 20 homers and 107 RBIs at Double-A in '08, winning the Topps Texas League Player of the Year. He qualifies at first base right now because that's where he's spent most of his time in the minors, but he's expected to play left field for the Pads. We'll see how that goes. He's not a small man.
According to the team's Web site, Blanks "held his own in the outfield, broke well on balls, both in front of him and behind him."
The Blanks callup isn't quite prediction contest-worthy, but he's worth a speculative add in large, competitive mixed formats. He's two percent-owned in PLUS leagues right now.

Lets compare him to a top tier pitchers over their past, oh, 8 starts.
Pitcher A: 2.94 ERA, 55 IP, 45 K, 17 BB, 1.11 WHIP, 7 QS
Pitcher B: 3.10 ERA, 49.1 IP, 37 K, 17 BB, 1.05 WHIP, 6 QS
Pitcher C: 3.21 ERA, 56 IP, 52 K, 10 BB, 1.16 WHIP, 6 QS
Josh Outman is pitcher B, Josh Johnson is pitcher A. Johnson has not done that much better than Outman has, yet Johnson is considered an elite pitcher.
Any guesses to Pitcher C, who has a higher ERA and WHIP, as well as a worse record (2-3) to Outman's 4-1?
If you guessed Zack Greinke, you are correct.
Stop the hating on Outman. He is a quality pitcher. He won't deliver the K's of Tiny Tim, the WHIP of Haren, or the innings of Halladay, but he will give you quality starts, and he'll give your team a chance to win.

Interesting Side note.... My opponent this week decided to bench all of his batters after going 1-1 with Guerrero on Monday.....SO he locked up K's against, BA and OBPS..... Isn't that effed up.... Now i find myself streamlining pitchers to try and get more Inning pitched and K's for for the week.....So far so good......

Go Fish!!!!!!
Anyway, does anyone think Matt Holliday could possibly flip his beastmode switch from 2007 on if he gets traded??!?!?!

Mostly, I think that Holliday is having a poor year increased by his move to O-ACC.
