Yup, he's back. It's winnin' time. The Angels have recalled First Ballot Howie from Triple-A Salt Lake, where he hit .346/.414/.526 with four steals in 20 games. Here's the roster fallout via the OC Register:

Infielder Sean Rodriguez(notes) was optioned back to Salt Lake following Friday’s game to make room for Kendrick. ... Kendrick’s at-bats could come at the expense of shortstop Erick Aybar(notes). Scioscia indicated that he will be inclined to keep Maicer Izturis(notes) in the lineup as much as possible even with Kendrick back.

This is truly the best Independence Day since '29. Be safe, everyone.

    Matin Prado is probably available. He's as productive as Kendrick.

    yeah picked him up to back up hudson and asdrubal....also had a roster spot free anyway...I finally gave up on that goober Magglio up in Detroit...god I hope someone in my league wastes their waiver priority on that piece of garbage ( cuz I sure wasted a draft pick).

    #7..& 8...Kendrick won't be splitting time. Izturis can also play SS and platoon
    with Aybar.

    People don't get it. I am not saying he is a batting champ, but you have to consider him for the second half. He might have the hot bat.
