Don't worry: This is not a Desmond Jennings(notes) call-up alert; it's just a drill. There's no immediate need to make an add/drop. Just know that Jennings has returned to action at Triple-A Durham after missing several games with a shoulder issue. The Rays prospect went 3-for-5 on Thursday while batting leadoff for the Bulls, raising his season average to .310 and his OBP to .408. The 23-year-old also stole his eighth base of the season in nine attempts. He's 9-for-25 with two doubles and three steals since rejoining Durham's lineup, hitting safely in six straight.

Jennings was named the Southern League MVP last season, and he entered 2010 as Baseball America's No. 6 overall prospect. He hit .318/.401/.487 across two minor league levels last year with 11 homers and 52 steals. He also walked as often as he K'd (67 of each in '09). Basically, Jennings appears to be Carl Crawford(notes) with on-base skills.

Health (or rather lack of health) has been the issue. Jennings has already been sidelined by wrist and shoulder injuries this year, and he missed time in prior seasons due to knee, back and shoulder troubles. Now that a Crawford trade seems out of the question (because the Rays are fantastic), Jennings' path to the majors is a bit more complicated. If he's going to be called up anytime soon, it will likely happen because a Tampa Bay regular is hurt, and/or Ben Zobrist(notes) becomes a full-time infielder.

Keep Jennings on the fantasy radar, though, and identify the appropriate drop in advance. When he gets the call, he'll arrive as a must-add. He's currently just two percent owned.
