So you know how 6.1 percent of us are unemployed?

Not Cedric Benson, not anymore. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, he found work today:

Just in from Bengals PR: (Looks like a solid move, but Benson won't do much better than Chris Perry if the run blocking by the offensive line doesn't improve.)

The Bengals today signed free agent running back Cedric Benson and placed running back DeDe Dorsey on the Reserve/Injured list.

Whatever else you think of this move, please understand that it is most definitely not solid. The Bengals needed someone, though, since Kenny Watson is dealing with a hamstring injury that may keep him on the sideline in Week 5.

Two grand juries recently declined to indict Benson on various carousing-while-intoxicated charges, so he'll probably be named one of the Bengals captains this week. Unless Chris Henry gets the nod.

For the record, this blog does not endorse the addition of Benson to fantasy rosters, nor do we endorse the firing of Chris Perry (6,105 drops today). You'll find additional thoughts on Benson here

I made a bet with a Bengal fan right after Rudi Johnson was released that if the Bengals needed a RB they'd pick up Cedric Benson or Travis Henry before Shaun Alexander or Ron Dayne. And I was right. Let me call this guy so I can get my money.

If Benson doesn't have a criminal record yet, he probably will soon. Welcome to the " City that never sleeps!" Paul Brown just rolled over in his grave. They'd be better off with Archie Griffin!

The only thing left for the Bengals to do is trade Carson Palmer for Adam "Pacman" Jones. At that time, they'll have cornered the market.

Mike Brown needs to hang himself... Better yet Carson should hang him for letting go of his offensive line and signing Justin [profane]tyass Smith...lol Nothing like getting 2 sacks from your franchise player...wohoooooooo!

i personally like this move..Benson is a first round pick so he has some skills...if he pulls his act together and think he could do some damage against some run defenses

Now all they have to do is trade for Adam(who calls him Adam) Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson, then stop by Miami and leave a trail of weed for Ricky to follow back to Ohio. Then Cincinatti could start a reality TV show and put it on Spike TV.
