When the Harrison twins announced they would come to Kentucky, reaction came in fast and furious.
From fans. From players. From media.
Kentucky signee Derek Willis, who until today was UK's only Class of 2013 commit, had a pre- and post-decision analysis:
Fellow Class of 2013 player Julius Randle -- the top recruit who is considering Kentucky, among five other schools -- took notice of the twin commitment.
Current players Nerlens Noel ("Welcome to the Fam boys !! #BBN") and Alex Poythress -- whose twin sister also goes to UK -- ("It's at Twin thing here at UK! BBN!") weighed in. Their tweets have since been deleted.
Current Baltimore Ravens receiver and Maryland alum Torrey Smith gave some cross-sport feedback:
Nearly every media outlet took note of the decision. Yahoo! national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi writes that, despite the fact that "Kentucky has been dominating high school recruiting since Calipari's arrival, the value of the twins cannot be understated."
SI.com's Andy Glockner writes that "Calipari has evolved from coach to CEO and Kentucky is Apple. Cal Inc. may not always produce the best product, but it's the best-branded product, and that means people will buy and buy and buy."
CBSSports.com's Jeff Borzello wrote that, although Maryland has "essentially everything" working for it, "Kentucky had John Calipari. And Calipari doesn't lose. In the end, that's all the Wildcats needed."
ESPN's Eamonn Brennan writes that, for as good as Calipari has been recruiting, "he may now just be arriving at the peak of his powers."
