Cris Cyborg has revealed she did not understand the thinking behind putting Ronda Rousey in a title fight for her UFC return. Rousey returned to the octagon in December 2016 for UFC 207, just over a year after losing her bantamweight title in her first loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. The 30-year-old was immediately put into a title fight upon her return with women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. Rousey was soundly beaten in 48 seconds into the first round. Given how she had a media blackout when she first lost her bantamweight title, many expect the Nunes fight to be Rousey's last as retirement could be on the horizon. Former boxer Michael Watson appealed for witnesses on Sunday after he was involved in a ''very frightening'' suspected car-jacking. The 51-year-old Watson, who was left partially disabled after suffering a near-fatal brain injury during a WBO super-middleweight title fight with Chris Eubank in 1991, was attacked Thursday while in a car with a friend in London. Watson was taken to hospital with cuts to his back while his friend, Lennard Ballack, was also seen by doctors after one of the suspects sprayed a substance in his eyes.

Professional boxing made its debut Saturday night on Twitter as Adrien Broner, a former champion in four weight classes, earned a 10-round split decision over Adrian Granados in Cincinnati. The judges scored the welterweight fight 97-93 (Broner), 97-93 (Granados) and 96-94 (Broner).
