Mexican-American boxing fans loved Fernando Vargas in spite of the fact that his game was limited and his lack of discipline saw no limits. Fellow California-native Victor Ortiz, also a Mexican-American, is not a gang banger or hardcore but the kid appears to be on his way to big things.
The soft-spoken Ortiz showed his "vicious" side and landed a bevy of lefts to send Jeffrey Resto to the mat three times over the course of four minutes and 13 seconds. Ortiz, the NABO junior welterweight champ, moves to 23-1-1, 18 KOs with a TKO at 1:13 of the second round. He had nothing but respect for the overmatched Resto:
"This is war, that's what I thought," Ortiz told HBO's Larry Merchant.
Ortiz continues to deliver the party line about his future saying that he'll leave it up to his management. The kid turns just 22 in January but looks ready to take on some of the elite fighters from the Top 15 at 140 lbs. It would be nice to see him matched up against the likes of Joan Guzman, Herman Ngoudjo, Ricardo Torres, Junior Witter, Randall Bailey, Lovemore N'Dou or even Paulie Malignaggi his next time out.

He may not be the next Golden Child but he beats the hell out of oscar. Up next would be Ricky Hatton which I think is a better fight than dela hoya. No more mexican fighter is capable of giving our Pound for Pound King a serious fight. Barrera already acknowledged that he can't sustain Pacman's power and speed. Marquez wanted only to fight for money then eventually retire.
Manny Pacquiao is already a world class boxer compared to marquez and barrera who is ungentleman in and outside the ring!
VIVA PHILIPPINES!!!
VIVA PACQUIAO!!!

The Pacman is a great fighter who happens to be in an era where mexican fighters are the norm.
Go dogg out Brett Favre or Jay Cutler for picking on black cornerbacks too. Same logic.

rude dont know his boxing. rude dog, do watch boxing for the past 8years? we knew that pacquiao is not invinsible, no boxer is invinsible, but the fact that manny pacquiao is the pound 4 pound king is the proof that has the enormous skills required for being one. you say that when pacman beat the crap of morales and barrera they are already in their twilight of their career, how can you say that when barrera was just 29 back 2003, and after he was obliterated by pacman, he won his 3rd championship over morales, how can you say that pacman beat old guys, i dont agree to you with that. pacman prove his worth of the stature what he has now, he beaten future hall of famers. INCLUDING recently the great dela hoya. i think you dont know well pacman too much, your just like some press that said that pacman has no chance of beating oscar, but did you saw the fight? pacman sent dela hoya to retirement. in an imbarrassing way. oh you also said that marquez was rob of victory by pacman, how can you say that when marquez kissed the canvass 4 times in their fight? even the insurmountable 2 weight difference between pacman dela hoya did not bother pacman. he is indeed the POUND 4 POUND KING.
any issues rude dog? i think your owner dont watch boxing, stay away from it or you might be biten by the pacman.

By the way, to guy who said Mexican fighters are boing,,,how long have you been following boxing? Or did you not even realize their was such a sport before Manny Pacquiao came along???
That wasn't a jab at Pacquiao by the way, he's great. But a true boxing fan who knows the sport would never say that Mexican fighters are all boring!
Anyway, back on topic...what about Ortiz???
