Boxing may not be what it was in the '60's and '70's but the biggest stars still command a ton of attention. Even presidents know who the champ is. The little guys have taken over the boxing world led by Manny Pacquiao. So when former President Bill Clinton found out that the Pacman was staying at the Mandalay Bay, where he just so happened to be eating dinner, he asked to meet the pound-for-pound king.

Clinton was chowing down at the Four Seasons, Mandalay Bay's sister property. Pacquiao came down from his room along with advisor Mike Koncz, one of his trainers Michael Moorer and Philippine Sec. Joselito Atenza.

Koncz told Yahoo! Sports that Pacquiao was actually in awe and very when he first met Clinton. That was surprising considering all the big name celebrities, diplomats and politicians Pacman has met over the years. Once the initial greetings were finished, Clinton transitioned right into talking about Pacquiao fights and boxing career. Clinton was also excited to meet Moorer and chatted him up about his fight against Evander Holyfield.

The meeting lasted roughly 10 minutes and also included some discussion about Clinton's unique ties to the Philippines. The President said that he had several Filipino classmates at Georgetown, including the current Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The conversation eventually moved toward Pacquiao's political aspirations.

One notable absence was Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum. Arum was called about the last second meeting but couldn't attend because he was having a birthday party at his house that included casino giant Steve Wynn.

President Clinton will not be attending the fight this weekend. He left today for a weekend stay in Kentucky.

Does anybody else find it hysterical that Pacman is raising his fist to President Clinton. Its probably just a habit, but I think its hilarious.
