Anthony Bartinelli looked shocked when his fight against Matt Korobov was stopped late in the second round. After all, he'd been outpunched 57-1! That's right, Bartinelli landed one punch in five-plus minutes of boxing while getting smashed by right hooks and straight lefts from the Russian middleweight prospect. Korobov scored a TKO victory at 2:15 of the second round to move to 5-0 in the second fight of the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton pay-per-view in Las Vegas.
Bartinelli (20-13-2) was rocked late in the first from a beautiful combo. He was knocked down by a left with with one minute left in the second. Bartinelli got up but when he failed answer nine straight punches from Korobov, the referee stepped in.
The 26-year-old Korobov is a native of Orotukan, Russia, who trains in Florida under trainer Dan Birmingham.
