New Jersey tells 'Macho' to go away

Who knew Hector "Macho" Camacho was still young enough to fight? Well, he really isn't at 46 years old but he wanted to give it another try this week against 37-year-old Yory Boy Campas in Atlantic City.

New Jersey Athletic Control Board commissioner Aaron Davis and assistant commissioner Sylvester Cuyler watched Camacho spar last week at the Atlantic City Police Athletic League Gym:

"I thought it was important to see them in the gym before I approved the fight," Davis told The Press of Atlantic City. "I'm looking to see if they get tired in the ring, and I wanted to get a gauge of their skill level. I saw Campas spar eight rounds and he looked good."

According to FightNews.com, the NJACB came back today and denied Camacho a license to fight Campas.

It might be good thing after both of his sparring partners said they felt like they needed to take it easy on Camacho:

"I didn't spar him like I would spar someone like (Somers Point middleweight prospect) Patrick (Majewski)," said Shamone Alvarez, 32. "I mean, the man's got to eat. It is what it is. I did what I had to do, so he could show his stuff."

Patrick Perez was a little more positive on Camacho's chances:

"I opened up on him a little bit, but he was hard to hit," said the 36-year-old Perez. "He's got a couple of fights left in him. I sparred with Yory Boy about 10 years ago and I think this would be a decent fight. Hector is faster and has a good chin, but Yory Boy hits harder."

Camacho (79-5-2, 38 KOs) has won 16 of his last 17 fights but had fought only once in the last four years. Maybe he needs to head to Alabama, where they'll license anyone including Kyle Maynard, a congenital amputee, for an MMA fight and 48-year-old boxer Ray Mercer.

Estimates of the The Pacman vs Hatton fight are between 1.6 and 2 million! Wow! Pacman vs PBF might just broke the old DLH vs Gayweather record. Can't wait for that fight!
I'll be leaving for Thailand this afternoon, so this could be my last post for awhile.
And as promise, I'm going to revert back to my old self. MMA is far more exciting and far more better than Boxing! Goodluck guys and enjoy your weekends. (^^,

This match would have put to rest any criticism of boxing as needing heart, lung and kidney transplants. once again officious meddling has frustrated the overwhelming demand of the people. We demand a Macho - Yory Boy battle for the ages.
