A humble Floyd Mayweather Jr. was on display for a few minutes this morning when he announced his comeback fighting against Juan Manuel Marquez on July 18 at the MGM Grand. He apologized for being disrespectful to the folks at Golden Boy Promotions. After those nice moments, the old Floyd came out swinging (0:45 mark):
"A small man will never retire me," said Mayweather, who undoubtedly will never fight the top three welterweights in the world: Paul Williams, Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto. "I'm the king. I'm here to stay. I left on top, came back on top. I'm here to reclaim what's mine."
Mayweather retired last June with a perfect 39-0 record.
"I'm the king, nobody has took my throne," said Mayweather. "You got all these fighters who claim they're the best."
It was interesting to hear the British media spin Mayweather's announcement this morning at the MGM as "stealing the thunder" from Ricky Hatton. He also addressed the persistent rumors that he's carrying a heavy tax debt:
"Okay, well, let me see," Mayweather said, when asked about the financial rumors. "If that was the case I would have taken one of those other deals. I've got three cars paid for. I've got the mansion paid for, house costs $15 million paid for, another house costs $5 million paid for, mother's house paid for. The kids got college funds. I'm fine, believe me. When I tell you I'm okay, I'm okay."
Mayweather also claimed that he is the pay-per-view king and that he'd like to do another fight against Oscar De La Hoya because it would make $50-60 million. The opening line is set at Mayweather -350 and the take back is +290 on Marquez.
Listen here after the big fight tonight. Starting at 1 a.m. ET, Cofield will host the ESPNRadio1100/Yahoo! Sports postfight show from the media center at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Callers are welcome at 702-364-1100 and the instant feedback text line is 63532.

Pacquiao vs. De La Hoya = retirement.
Mayweather has small chance against Paquiao if he runs the first 5 rounds. If he fights toe2toe, he's toast.

He has to go through Manny in order to be able to claim that and as post number 6 mentioned, Manny pretty much destroyed a great boxer (Hatton) in 2 rounds. I think Floyd should jump around weight classes if anything to avoid having to fight Manny or else he'll have to retire again.
