Boxing fans have been calling for better competition for middleweight prospect Danny Jacobs. They're going to get in now under some unusual circumstances. Jacobs just moved to 15-0 with 14 knockouts after finishing Jose Varela on ESPN's Friday Night Fights and his next opponent is already set. Golden Boy Promotions announced Jacobs will step for James Kirkland this weekend against Mike Walker on the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton undercard.
"I’m very excited that I have the opportunity to fight again this week,” said Jacobs. “I’m in shape and coming off a big knockout win, so I’m ready for the fight with Walker. "It’s an honor for me to get this type of exposure on the undercard of the year’s biggest card. I promise that no one will be disappointed with my performance on May 2nd."
Walker, who just beat former world champ Atwun Echols, looks like a solid test especially on seven days rest. Jacobs, a Golden Gloves legend out of Brooklyn, narrowly missed the U.S. Olympic team. He has racked up 15 wins in roughly 17 months. Walker is solid fighter but appears to be a little small for the 160-pound weight class at 5-foot-7. Jacobs is 6-foot-1.
Kirkland was dumped from the card after he was arrested on weapons charges.

I know it'll be a boring fight because Gayweather is in it. But I'm a huge Marquez fan so I'm still gonna be watching it.

i am not sure about jacobs. i know that a journeyman ravelo nearly knocked him out of the gym in sparring two weeks before this fight. ravelo is a great gym fighter, but that gives me a bit of caution on jacobs given ravelos' pro record.
ufc 100.. i sure hope it is better than the last 99... mayweather will tear jmm a new one. look what he did to corrales, who gave jmm all he could handle... omega, jump off this site. you're an idiot with limited knowledge and a bias for a 'sport' that appeals to mostly white trash idiots still sporting mullets.
