We've assembled a diverse and experienced panel of boxing writers to select the inaugural Yahoo! Sports boxing top 10 pound-for-pound poll.
All have been on the beat for many years and have a keen understanding of the fight game. Three have been honored with the Nat Fleischer Award, given by the Boxing Writers Association of America, for career excellence in boxing journalism.
The rest are among the most respected in the game at their craft.
Here's a short biography of each and a link to their sites:
Carlos Arias, Orange County Register: Along with myself, is the only member of the panel also to be on our MMA top 10 panel.
Ron Borges, HBO.com: The long-time Boston Globe boxing columnist is a former Nat Fleischer Award winner. He is currently writing a book on ex-Raiders coach Art Shell.
Tim Graham, Buffalo News: The president of the Boxing Writers Association of America, Graham covers the sport in Buffalo and previously wrote boxing for the Las Vegas Sun.
Keith Idec, Herald News/The Record, N.J.: Idec covers boxing for the Herald News in West Patterson, N.J., and for The Record in Hackensack, N.J., and is known as a thought-provoking analyst.
Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports: The mixed martial arts and boxing columnist for this site.
Chuck Johnson, USA Today: Has been the boxing writer at the nation's newspaper since 2005.
Robert Morales, Los Angeles Daily News: A passionate and hard-working writer who isn't afraid to take a contrary opinion.
Kieran Mulvaney, Reuters: Also writes occasionally for ESPN.com and has written a number of books.
Tim Smith, New York Daily News: The 2005 Nat Fleischer Award winner formerly was the boxing writer at the New York Times.
