NFL milestone: not a single player was arrested in September
September was a notable month for the National Football League. Jameis Winston made his rookie debut, Johnny Manziel notched his first NFL win, and not a single player throughout the league was arrested. According to Mike Rosenberg, it's the first time in more than six years that the NFL has been able to boast that particular statistic.
NFL just finished a calendar month without any player arrests reported. That hadn't happened in more than 6 years.

To be fair, the league's popularity probably doesn't help matters here, at least when it comes to the extraodrinary publicity surrounding player arrests. Say what you might about Aaron Hernandez or Ray Rice, but a study by criminologists at the University of Texas-Dallas demonstrated that the arrest rate for NFL players was two times lower than that of males age 20-39 (from 2000 to 2013.)
Having said that, as Rosenberg also noted, it was only the second month during Roger Goodell's tenure without a recorded arrest.
September was just 2nd month without an NFL player arrest reported since Roger Goodell began as commissioner in 2006. Other was July 2009.
