Torii Hunter makes wish come true

Torii Hunter has a reputation for being one of the good guys in Major League Baseball. The Detroit Tigers outfielder only added to his mystique prior to Thursday night's game at Comerica Park against one of his former clubs, the Minnesota Twins.

Hunter granted a wish from a young fan suffering from leukemia as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. But here's the catch - literally: the boy's first name is Hunter. The younger Hunter's parents are also big Twins fans and named their son after the nine-time Gold Glove Award winner. The family drove all the way from Minnesota to Detroit prior to the game. The namesakes met and played catch - all while it was drizzling. But being the all-around quality individual the four-time All-Star is, he was more than happy to oblige. The elder Hunter even bragged about the unique opportunity to his teammates in the clubhouse. The Tigers eventually won 7-6.

Meanwhile in hockey, the New York Rangers avoided elimination thanks to a 4-3 overtime victory against the Boston Bruins. The Bruins hold a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series.
