Tim McCarver recites Metallica during MLB All-Star Game

You wouldn't necessarily tab Tim McCarver as a Metallica guy. But the veteran baseball analyst (who is retiring following the 2013 season) recited lyrics to one of the iconic hard rock band's signature songs during Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game.

Of course, "Enter Sandman" also happens to be New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera's entrance music. And like McCarver, Mo is calling it a career on the big stage following the last out this year. But when McCarver quoted the song written by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett following Rivera's memorable entrance during the eighth inning at Citi Field, it was just - strange.

As for the game itself, Rivera pitched a 1-2-3 inning to earn MVP honors as the American League beat the National League 3-0 to earn home-field advantage in the World Series.

Meanwhile in Gold Cup soccer, the United States Men's National Team beat Costa Rica 1-0 thanks to a Brek Shea goal in the 82nd minute.

And after a 16-year hiatus, television personality Keith Olbermann is returning to ESPN.
