The awkard interaction between a plastic bucket and 20 pairs of bare feet

Team building is nothing new in sports. Whether it's closed-door meetings, offseason retreats, or even lavish dinners paid for by rookies. But the Vancouver Canucks are taking a unique approach to building team chemistry.

The Canucks website released this video Monday of the team taking part in various activities to encourage teamwork. The exercises – prompted by Assistant Coach Perry Pearn – include a somewhat awkward interaction between a plastic bucket and 20 pairs of bare feet. Daniel Sedin gets the nod for most exciting Canuck during sock removal as the almost assuredly smelly exercise is capped off by a jubilant team hug.

You can check out the entire 5 minutes of piggy backs, indoor skiing and footsy on the Canucks YouTube Channel.

Across the continent, the Boston Bruins (who Canuck fans deplore, by the way) took a more traditional route in team building in their annual visit to the Boston Children’s Hospital. The boys from Beantown showed up dressed as characters from the movie "Frozen," and yes, that’s 6-5, 212-pound, Dougie Hamilton dressed as Elsa. (Twitter Photo Courtesy: @NHLBruins)
