Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard: 'I'm a nudist'

Bernard Pollard was once given a pair of boxers along with his "Good Guy" award by the local media when he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. Why such a personal gift? The current Tennessee Titans safety is rather, ummm, comfortable in his skin. He's known for appearing in the locker room and giving interviews in the nude.

During a Q&A session with fans during his weekly show for the Tennessean.com at Moe's Original Bar B Que in Franklin, Tenn., Pollard was asked if he has any pregame supersititions. His answer was rather revealing.

"One of the biggest things I do, and I've done it my whole career … in college and high school … when I get into the facility, I'll get in the hot tub, shower and then go to my locker and just sit in my jockstrap," Pollard said, after making sure it was OK to tell the truth to the assembled crowd. "In Baltimore, all the guys would time me, on how long I was naked or in a jock. I think it got up to 38 minutes one time. I'm a nudist."

You have to appreciate the nine-year NFL veteran's candor. But teammates of the guy known for being involved in a variety of significant injuries to several members of the New England Patriots over the years (including those suffered by Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski and Stevan Ridley) may want to give him a wide berth.
