South Korean mayor egged by assemblyman for moving ballpark project

Eggings in council meetings aren't necessarily something you see everyday. But judging by the reaction of many following an incident in South Korea, you'd think they were the norm. Tensions were high after Changwon mayor Ahn Sang-soo moved a ballpark project (that included a nearby research center) from Jinhae to Masan in an effort to lure the NC Dinos. The Dinos play in the Korea Baseball Organization. Assemblyman Kim Sung-il, who represents Jinhae, was not very happy with the controversial decision by Hizzoner. So what did he do?

A smattering of applause ensued the egging. Sung-il simply walked out of the meeting without security intervening. After taking one egg to his right shoulder and dodging another that flew over his head, Sang-soo bowed his head and calmly left the council chamber thirty seconds later. We're not sure what Sung-il's fate was, but he certainly has a decent arm. Perhaps a tryout is in order with his would-be hometown club.
