Samsung spokesman LeBron James tweets about his phone’s meltdown

Yahoo Sports Minute

It can be pretty gut-wrenching to watch your smartphone delete all of its contents before your eyes — cloud or no cloud. So when LeBron James tweeted Wednesday "My phone just erased everything it had in it and rebooted. One of the sickest feelings I've ever had in my life!!!" there was naturally some sympathy among his 12 million Twitter followers.

Samsung, on the other hand, couldn't have been pleased. After all, James is one of the brand's highest-paid spokespeople. He has become the veritable face of the Galaxy and Galaxy Note in an ongoing television campaign that touts the four-time MVP using his smartphones to do just about everything — from capturing precious family time to sneaking up on Chris "Birdman" Andersen in the training room for surprise selfies.

As one might imagine, the tweet was deleted minutes later, though not before it was seen by millions. Coincidentally, as of this moment, @KingJames does not appear to be one of the 298 Twitter users that @SamsungMobile is following.

Maybe LeBron could learn a thing or too from Shaquille O'Neal, who probably has an app for this kind of situation considering his $1,000 a week obsession.

Island moving up the coast

Shortly after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday afternoon, Darrelle Revis signed with a new team before dinner. The cornerback inked a one-year deal worth $12 million with the New England Patriots.

Big 12 rematch

After downing Texas Tech Wednesday night in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament, Oklahoma State will advance to play Kansas in the quarterfinal.
