Report: 'Solid majority' of a dozen NFL coaches would rather face Peyton Manning than Colin Kaepernick

The question was asked in the aftermath of one of the largest Super Bowl blowouts in a game that has featured many. Perhaps that context colored the answers that were given. But according to a report by Andy Benoit of The Monday Morning Quarterback, when he polled a dozen NFL coaches at the scouting combine in February if they'd rather face Peyton Manning or Colin Kaepernick, a "solid majority" of them said Peyton.

The report mentioned none of the coaches thought the San Francisco 49ers player was a better quarterback than the five-time league MVP. They were just saying the four-year pro was "more stressful" to face. And while Manning has an uncanny feel for the game and reading defenses, the unpredictability of Kaepernick's play is what opposing coaches fear most. The question boils down to this: as skilled as he is, you know what you're going to get with Manning. That's not the case with Kaepernick (as unpolished as he may be).

We'll get to see who gets the better of the other in Week 7. The Broncos host the 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
