Working undercover isn't easy. Just ask any of the characters in The Departed, or better yet, the legions of Philadelphia police officers who will attend Saturday's NFC Wild Card game at Lincoln Financial Field disguised as New Orleans Saints fans.
This isn't the first time the force has resorted to undercover measures to deter would-be aggressors from going after opposing fans, but with the Eagles hosting a playoff tilt for the first time since 2010 it is certainly high-profile detail for Philly's finest. Officers impersonating Saints devotees will be spread out amongst the 69,000 fans in the stadium in hopes that 'Bird Brains' will think twice before picking on someone wearing black and gold.
