Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph slips on on-deck circle, makes Forrest Gump reference
Caleb Joseph burst on to the baseball scene last month when he homered in five straight games. Wednesday night, the Baltimore Orioles catcher bursted into the home dugout's camera well after a scary spill on the on-deck circle mat.
Thankfully, the 28-year-old rookie was OK after the dangerous-looking play. He even joked about the misstep with reporters after the 6-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, making a movie reference.
Caleb Joseph said he's fine after fall near dugout. "I'm good. I've got some cushion in the buttocks area as Forrest Gump would say."

O's manager Buck Showalter had a different take on the near-disaster. The Baltimore skipper was clearly displeased with nasty fall, eyeballing the scene moments after it happened. He later ordered members of the grounds crew to remove the mats on both the home and visitors side off the field.

Meanwhile, Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker still doesn't know how he failed a drug test which led to a four-game suspension. And former teammate, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, wasn't about to speculate on how his Kentucky Derby buddy flirted with disaster.
Patriots QB Tom Brady was asked by reporters in Foxboro if he saw Wes Welker take anything at the Kentucky Derby: "No comment on that."

Too little …
Finally in soccer, after missing the World Cup final against Germany due to injury, Argentina's Angel Di Maria had a brilliant effort against the reigning champions Wednesday. Di Maria had three assists and a goal in a 4-2 victory.
