New York City FC uniforms virtual replicas of Man City kit
When it comes to its place in the fashion world, Manchester, England is no New York City. But in international soccer circles, the Big Apple isn't quite on the same level as the world's first industrialized city. And thanks to the MLS expansion franchise New York City FC's new uniforms (that were unveiled Thursday), it's clear which location is boss in football terms.

The NYC FC kits are virtual replicas of Man City's signature sky blue look — right down to the sponsorship by United Arab Emirates-based Etihad Airlines. Of course, the English Premier League giant is a co-owner of the new squad that begins play next March (the New York Yankees are also co-owners). And there are subtle differences to the unis. NYC FC features an Adidas logo compared to Man City's Nike swoosh and the MLS club's badge is an homage to New York City subway tokens from the 1950s. But beyond that, the two sets of apparel are essentially identical.
