Mariano Rivera blows save in historic fashion

It was supposed to be a memorable and historic Tuesday night for the Yankees' Mariano Rivera, but it turned out to be a night he'll soon hope to forget. Playing in his final game at Citi Field, Rivera was honored before the game by the Mets and the FDNY and threw out a ceremonial first pitch to Mets’ career-saves leader John Franco. But the 43-year-old, who plans to retire after the season, didn't smile much after that. Not only did he blow the first save of his farewell season, he did it without recording a single out for the first time in his career. Daniel Murphy opened the ninth inning with a double, and David Wright and Lucas Duda hit RBI singles off Rivera, as the Mets won, 2-1.

In the NBA's Eastern Conference finals, LeBron James fouled out late in the fourth quarter for just the second time in 128 career playoff games. The somewhat questionable call, which happened on a moving screen during a Miami Heat possession, opened the door for the Indiana Pacers to hold on and put away the game. Led by Roy Hibbert's 23 points and 12 rebounds, Indiana evened the series 2-2 and will head to Miami for Game 5 on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Kings are headed to the NHL's Western Conference finals once again. Justin Williams scored twice and Jonathan Quick made 25 saves, as the defending Stanley Cup champions beat the San Jose Sharks, 2-1.
