Man bowls a perfect game for the first time at age 81

Yahoo Sports Minute

As anyone who's laced up a pair of Brunswick shoes will tell you, bowling a perfect game isn't easy. Sure, a perfect score of 300 — twelve strikes in a row — isn't uncommon at the professional level. But to see an 81-year-old man in a local league accomplish such a feat is pretty remarkable.

This is what Ray Niedzwiecki just accomplished — for the first time in his life — at Modern Lanes in Exeter, Pa. with the rest of the Georgetti Painting League on hand to witness. As incredible as this effort was, his humble enthusiasm after the perfect score might be what stands the test of time.

Tiger Woods withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational Tuesday, citing continuing back spasms which also caused him to withdraw from the Honda Classic on March 2 and plagued him during the Cadillac Championship two weeks ago at Doral.

Two steps closer to a Billion Dollar Bracket

The 2014 NCAA basketball tournament is officially underway, with the First Four squaring off Tuesday night for the right to advance to the field of 64. Albany held off Mount St. Mary's in exciting fashion to secure a 71-64 victory — their only win ever in NCAA tournament play. In Dayton, ACC player of the year T.J. Warren led N.C. State to a 74-59 win over Xavier. Next up for the Wolfpack is fifth-seeded St. Louis in the Midwest Regional.
