LeBron James eludes headband thief

LeBron James and the Miami Heat may have gone down in defeat for the first time in nearly two months Wednesday night. But The Chosen did not lose his headband, thank you very much.

As James and his teammates walked off the court following a 101-97 loss to Chicago – without shaking the hands of any members of the victorious Bulls, by the way – James was able to elude an overzealous fan’s attempt at grabbing his headband. Not only is the King really good at basketball – he’s really good at avoiding trolls. Remember when Kobe Bryant left the floor in Oklahoma City a few weeks ago and a fan got a Black Mamba towel? James would not suffer the same fate as he departed the United Center.

So how did the Bulls snap the Heat’s 27-game win streak? Rugged play and big games from their big men. Chicago got 21 points and 17 boards from Carlos Boozer as Miami’s memorable streak was snapped.

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask snapped in a different way. The B’s netminder slipped while chucking his stick into the boards following a 6-5 shootout loss to Montreal.

Finally, VCU’s Shaka Smart rebuffed any potential suitors - like UCLA and Minnesota - by re-upping with the Rams through 2023.
