LeBron James dunks after between-the-legs pass from Kyrie Irving in Cavaliers open scrimmage

It was more than just a glorified practice. The Cleveland Cavaliers annual Wine and Gold Scrimmage on Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena afforded fans a chance to see LeBron James in a Cavs uniform at The Q for the first time since May 11, 2010. Cleveland lost to the Boston Celtics 120-88 that night in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Decision, four straight NBA Finals appearances and two titles in Miami followed for James. But Wednesday marked the next chapter in a series of returns for Ohio's Prodigal Son. And he did not disappoint.

A crowd of 16,723 was on hand (many of whom waited in line 90 minutes outside the arena prior to the start of the festivities) to witness Kyrie Irving's between-the-legs pass that James finished with a one-handed dunk. LeBron finished with 13 points in 19 minutes — but the night was about more than statistics. "It was a great reaction," said James, who called the evening "a special night." "The fans are great, they've always been great, they were great while I was gone."
