Kevin Garnett talks trash to Rajon Rondo

Yahoo Sports Minute

Sunday night marked the first time Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were back in Boston since the pair that helped the Celtics win the 2008 NBA championship were traded to the Brooklyn Nets last summer. Each received a rousing video tribute and following the 85-79 Brooklyn victory, Pierce said, "This was the toughest game I ever had to play — tougher than any championship game, any Game 7."

Garnett didn't go as far as Pierce, who was drafted by the franchise with the 10th overall pick in 1998. But KG was also emotional. ''It was, by far, the hardest day that I had to focus,'' said Garnett, a 19-year veteran. ''It's a good homecoming.''

Part of what made it a good homecoming for the duo was a Brooklyn victory. The other was Garnett's good-natured trash talking session with former teammate, Rajon Rondo.

We're not sure what was said between the two players, who are each known for being intense competitors. But we love Rondo playfully clenching his fist, as if he were Garnett's little brother.

The King reigns again

Meanwhile, LeBron James buried a ridiculous circus shot during the third quarter of the Miami Heat's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Miami won 113-101 in a rematch of last year's NBA Finals.

Jagr Passes Lemieux

Moving to the NHL, Jaromir Jagr's first period assist to Patrick Elias in the New Jersey Devils' Stadium Series tilt against the New York Rangers at Yankee Stadium pushed him past former teammate Mario Lemieux for 10th on the all-time assist list. Alas, the Rangers beat the Devils 7-3.
