Georges St-Pierre cast in Captain America sequel

Yahoo Sports Minute

Following in the footsteps of former UFC star Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Georges St-Pierre is headed for the silver screen.

The current welterweight champ, who defended his title earlier this month against Nick Diaz, has been cast in the new Captain America sequel. He’ll play the role of villain Batroc the Leaper, who doesn’t have any superpowers but just happens to be a French kickboxing master. Of course, you might remember Jackson’s turn as B.A. Baracus starring opposite Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper in The A-Team movie a few years ago. GSP, who has done some acting in smaller films, will appear alongside such Hollywood heavy hitters as Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The potential blockbuster is slated for an April 4th, 2014 release.

Moving to the NBA, the Heat won their 27th in a row. Miami got 24 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists from LeBron James in a 108-94 victory over Orlando.

And Tiger Woods is number one in the Official World Golf Rankings once again after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It’s the first time Woods has held the top spot since October 2010 as he won at Bay Hill for the eighth time to match Sam Snead for most victories in a single tournament.
