Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Dallas Eakins thanks Lars Eller for trash talk

The whole 'sticks-and-stones' mantra tells us that it's probably best to ignore those who talk trash and just go about our business. But Edmonton Oilers coach Dallas Eakins chose to handle things differently after Montreal Canadiens center Lars Eller ran his mouth before a game and compared the Oilers to a junior team. Eakins went so far as to personally thank the young player.

In a postgame interview Tuesday night, the first-year Oilers coach confessed that Eller's pregame comments went straight from the press to the bulletin board in their locker room. The "awesome" trash talking only seemed to serve as great motivation as Edmonton would go on to beat Montreal 4-3.

Fortunately there are athletes who seem more focused on having a good time — like Rob Gronkowski. The New England Patriots tight end just announced "Rob Gronkowski's Football 101 Women's Clinic" will take place on Nov. 11 at Harvard Stadium. Females over the age of 21 who would like to join the All-Pro party animal on his bye week can enjoy "football basics with a social twist," for the cost of $99, which includes complimentary "beer, wine and Gronk-tinis."
