Conor McGregor recalls Vegas strip joy ride in UFC president Dana White's Ferrari

Conor McGregor says he's living the dream. And during his trip to Las Vegas last year, the UFC fighter got a special treat: he sat in the passenger seat of UFC president Dana White's Ferrari and cruised around Sin City in style. The video McGregor took of the joy ride became an internet sensation in the mixed martial arts community.

Fast forward a year later and the now-26-year-old featherweight contender will take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 178 Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The winner will likely get a shot at the belt. The Dublin, Ireland native also plans on turning the tables on White when it comes to exotic cars.

"Somebody said to me the other day, 'Last time you were in Vegas, you were riding shotgun in Dana's Ferrari. What does it mean now to be finally back here and fighting this time?'" McGregor recalled. "I said, 'It means it's gonna be Dana shotgun in my Ferrari!"

McGregor wouldn't say what hotel he was staying at this week leading up to his match with Poirier due to concern over, as he said, "thousands and thousands of screaming women waving (a certain article of clothing) outside my door." Clearly, the man who goes by the nickname "Notorious" has a sense of humor and a strong streak of self-confidence. He added his presidential suite accommodations were "phenomenal" and admitted he needed to get a butler. And back to his special bond with White, McGregor added, "Dana's a cool, cool man. He's a fun guy. He's from Boston and Boston has a strong Irish-American heritage. We are the same people."
