Citi Field makes memorable cameo in Sharknado 2
Big league ballparks have made cameos in movies for decades. Who could forget Matthew Broderick taking his buddy and girlfriend to Wrigley Field in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"? Or Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore's dramatic reunion at Fenway Park near the end of "Fever Pitch"? And of course, there have been several appearances in baseball-themed films like "Major League" (and its sequels) and "Little Big League" just to name a few. But few have generated the buzz that Citi Field's role played in "Sharknado 2: The Second One." Here's a sampling of the reaction on Twitter.
I'm hearing that #Sharknado either destroyed Citi Field or the #Mets tonight; fact is they've been chum for the National League since 2007

That dark cloud over Citi Field was actually just Bobby Bonilla's contract #sharknado2

Citi Field getting destroyed by sharks would actually be an improvement for the Mets. #Sharknado2TheSecondOne
