Former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick and veteran play-by-play man Thom Brennaman have been NFL on Fox broadcast partners for six seasons. It's evident a rapport has developed over time between the duo — a rapport that was on display as the pair called the Chicago Bears-Cleveland Browns game this past Sunday.
The Super Bowl-winning coach demonstrated a little teamwork in the booth as the telecast came back from commercial break. Brennaman had just dropped a glove (a necessary accessory in frigid Ohio at this time of year) and didn't realize he was on-camera. That's when a quick-thinking Billick subtly reached out to remind Brennaman they were on. Following the bail out, Brennaman recovered as if nothing had happened. Ah… live TV.
In the face!
Miami Dolphins punter Brandon Fields wasn't so lucky. Fields — who doubles as a holder for kicks — was caught off guard on a field goal attempt during the Fins' Week 15 game against the New England Patriots. Long snapper John Denney hiked the ball unexpectedly to Fields and we were given "the face fumble."
In the face! Part 2
And if you thought that was bad, look at this tweet featuring Washington Wizards head coach Randy Wittman. Ouch!
