Bee delay during Giants, Diamondbacks game gets appropriate soundtrack at Chase Field

Yahoo Sports Minute

Bees have been known to cause delays in major league ballparks from time to time. The unwelcome insects showed up in Anaheim and Kansas City just last year. So when the first inning of Thursday's game between the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks was delayed briefly by a swarm, it wasn't completely surprising. But the soundtrack provided by the quick-thinking Chase Field public address crew was a little out of the ordinary (albeit appropriate). The staff busted out The Beatles' classic "Let It Be" as well as Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry Be Happy" while umpires figured out what to do. The game eventually resumed, with the Giants winning 8-5.

Not quite routine

Nothing is routine in baseball. Nine-time Gold Glove Award winner Torii Hunter was reminded of that hard truth during the Detroit Tigers' season opener Monday against the Kansas City Royals. Mike Moustakas hit what appeared to be an easy flyball to the Tigers right fielder in the second inning. But instead of putting it away for the second out of the second inning, Hunter bobbled it.

Killer crossovers

Finally, Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson put a move on Nick Calathes the Memphis Grizzlies guard won't soon forget. And San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Park flat out embarrassed Oklahoma City Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins.
