Basketball player with Down syndrome wows crowd

Yahoo Sports Minute

There was no shortage of emotion on display when Kevin Grow got a chance to play for the Bensalem (Pa.) Fighting Owls late in the fourth quarter against Neshaminy (Pa.) Saturday. After all, the senior with Down syndrome has been the basketball team's beloved manager for four straight years. But from the look and sound of it on You Tube, no one in the crowd could have scripted this game's finish.

With about two minutes to go in the game, Bensalem coach John Mullin put Grow into the game in front of the home crowd on Senior Night. With a little help from his Owl teammates and some gracious sportsmanship from Neshaminy, the coast was cleared for Grow to score a layup. Feeling good about the close-range finish, Grow thought it prudent to start shooting from beyond the arc. And good thing he did, since he absolutely caught fire from 3-point land. Including a buzzer beater from beyond the arc, Grow hit four -- count 'em, four -- three pointers to close out the memorable game for everyone in attendance. Coach Mullin may have summed it up best when he told reporters afterward, "it felt like a movie."

Jamie Anderson completes the sweep

The sweep is complete for Team USA after Jamie Anderson's golden run on Sunday in the women's final. The Lake Tahoe native was virtually flawless on a course many feared to be too dangerous for riders, wowing the judges with multiple 720s in a run that scored 95.25 for the gold a day after fellow American Sage Kotsenburg won the Men's event.

Windmills power Staples Center

Please don't rush to any alternative energy conclusions here, this is merely a cheap pun made possible by Blake Griffin's lavish display of windmill dunking on Sunday night. Up nearly 40 points against the Philadelphia 76ers before halftime, Griffin started putting on a show with two of the most electrifying alley-oop windmill dunks you will see. What's more is the finishes — both off Chris Paul lobs — came within 30 seconds of one another as Lob City (aka the Los Angeles Clippers) cruised to a 123-78 rout.
