Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri could retire tomorrow and have a good shot at being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day. But the only boot to own four Super Bowl rings has been in New York this week promoting the game and making appearances ahead of Super Bowl XLVIII (and suggesting field goals 50 yards or more should be worth four points). During a media event in Times Square, Vinatieri converted a field goal off what was probably a frozen piece of AstroTurf — then slipped and fell on his backside. The embarrassing moment was captured by TMZ Sports for our enjoyment:

Meanwhile, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has had an eventful Super Bowl week. The enigmatic player had an interesting "interview" with Deion Sanders on Media Day, then uttered this doozy at Wednesday's media availability: "I'm just here so I won't get fined." Thankfully, the reclusive tailback can simply play football come Sunday in the biggest game of his life.
