Wimbledon rankings: Hewitt on the move

Busted Racquet

The second edition of the Yahoo! Sports Wimbledon power rankings sees familiar faces at the top of the men's and women's lists - but it was an old favorite who grabbed the attention of the Centre Court crowd early on Day 3.

Lleyton Hewitt, the 2002 champion, has not been a serious contender at this event for several years, as his declining physical powers and a serious injury pushed him well down the pecking order of men's tennis.

However, Hewitt has refocused his energies this season and his commitment is finally bearing fruit, with him playing his best tennis in recent memory heading into the Championships.

His straight sets victory over fifth seed Juan Martin del Potro on Thursday was a big achievement for the tenacious Australian, who still has enough game to cause some damage into the second week.

Hewitt is a new entry at No.8 on our list, with Roger Federer on top of the men's pile and Venus Williams our leading lady.

2. (2) Andy Murray - home hero looked better in round two
