Wimbledon, Day 11: Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray advance to the finals
It's true that Novak Djokovic is the No. 1 ranked player in the world, but he's only won one Grand Slam title in the last year, and looked like he might miss out on a second straight finals appearance at Wimbledon at the hands of Juan Martin del Potro.
That didn't happen, but it took Djokovic surviving the longest semifinals match in Wimbledon history, beating del Potro 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-7 (8), 6-3 in what is easily one of the best matches of 2013.
Djokovic nearly doubled the winners of del Potro and had 22 aces to his four, but the Argentine hung around for as long as he could before losing to one of the toughest players in tennis history as matches extend deep into the fifth set.
The late match had British hopeful Andy Murray up against the hard-hitting Jerzy Janowicz, and while it has been a rather strange Wimbledon, Murray advancing means we get the No. 1 and No. 2 seed in the men's draw battling in the finals.
Murray dropped the first set against Janowicz, but the Scotsman who has won an Olympic gold on this same court and his first Grand Slam in the last year at the U.S. Open was poised throughout the match, only losing focus after the third set when the Wimbledon officials informed him they would be closing the roof for the remainder of the match.
Still, the pressure is back on Murray, who will once again try to break a Great Britain drought at Wimbledon for the men that dates back to Fred Perry in 1936.
"It was one of the best matches I've been a part of, most exciting definitely," Novak Djokovic said after his five set win over Juan Martin del Potro.
Andy Murray might not have been a big fan of the suits at Wimbledon closing the roof before the fourth set, but if nothing else it gave us this incredible shot of a Murray serve during his semifinals match.

Normally Bradley Cooper is one of the coolest men in the world, but the guy looked like he rolled out of bed, or at least an Abercrombie and Fitch shoot, before heading to Wimbledon on Friday.
Saturday marks the finals for the women, as Marion Bartoli and her ridiculous IQ will go up against Sabine Lisicki on Centre Court. Neither player has ever won a Grand Slam title, but that will definitely change on Saturday at Wimbledon.
Head to head over the years, Lisicki is 3-1 against Bartoli, with the only win for the Frenchwoman coming at Wimbledon in 2008.
After that match, the Bryan brothers will look to make it four straight Grand Slam doubles titles as they face Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo.
