Two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal doesn’t think about winning Wimbledon

Today in disingenuously humble (disinhumble?) quotes from 11-time major champion Rafael Nadal:

"Thinking about winning another title here in Wimbledon is arrogant and crazy. That's something I cannot think about."

One of the most frequent questions I hear about Nadal, from both fans and non-fans of tennis, is why he celebrates so much when he wins finals that are never in doubt. The theory being: It's understandable to fall on the clay after winning a tight match. That's elated relief. But when you win in straight sets and there's no drama, why celebrate like the match was ever in doubt?

For Nadal, perhaps it's because he always thinks the match is in doubt. That's why he sprints for balls at 0-40 in return games and slides around like a maniac up 5-1 in the third. Or maybe I just read too much into throwaway quotes.
